Protocol of Accession signed 25 July 1986; Mexico became GATT's 92nd contracting party 24 August 1986. Commitments included maximum tariff bindings of 50% (most lines bound at 30%), removal of import-licensing except for agricultural products, and adoption of GATT valuation. Reversed four decades of ISI protection.
